Registration is now open for the 2026 Special Olympics Brunswick County Polar Plunge, taking place February 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Support Special Olympics Brunswick County by taking the wintry leap into the chilly water at Middleton Park, 102 SE 47th St in Oak Island.
There will be food, games, entertainment, and a costume contest. Too chicken to plunge? Donate to get a “Too Chicken to Plunge” shirt and/or donate to an individual fundraiser or team in support of Special Olympics Brunswick County. Brunswick County Special Olympics is also partnering with Oak Island Water Rescue for their annual food drive, so feel free to bring any non-perishable foods to the Plunge for donation. - Individuals can register for $50. To plunge and receive the Polar Plunge T-shirt, you must fundraise a minimum of $50.
- Register as a Polar Plunge team! To receive the Polar Plunge T-shirt, individuals must fundraise a minimum of $50. When creating your team, make sure to set your fundraising goal to cover $50 per team member!
- Are you too chicken to take the Plunge? Join us in our chicken coop! To receive the “Too Chicken” t-shirt, you must fundraise a minimum of $30.
