
Join us at the Oak Island Recreation Center and you’ll learn everything you need to take that fish from the surf sand to the frying pan. Led by local fisherman, Ian Sands, discover a unique course specifically designed for Oak Island anglers as participants discuss the different fish in our surf, and talk about the right rig and bait for the fish you want to catch.
We’ll even talk about cleaning and cooking those fish. By the end of class, you’ll know everything there is to know to fish the surf and have fun doing it.
For the class please bring your own, Fishing Rod, Sand Spike, and Tackle Box.
The classroom portion will be held on Fridays from 6 pm – 7:30 pm and the fishing excursion will be on Saturday, the bait & rigs will be provided by Parks & Rec. The Saturday starting times are TBA as they are tide dependent.
The classroom portion fee is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents, and for the excursion the fee is $35 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
