Oak Island Tree Lighting MOVED Due to Inclement Weather

Event to be held indoors at Recreation Center

NOTICE: Due to a forecast of inclement weather, the Oak Island Tree Lighting scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM has been MOVED, and will now be held inside the
Oak Island Recreation Center located at 3003 East Oak Island Drive.

This event will held on the same date and time, and will still feature previously advertised activities including Craft Stations, Letters to Santa, Craft Vendors, Visits with Santa, Chocolate n S’more, and much more! Come out with family and friends to enjoy this holiday tradition kicking off the Christmas By The Sea weekend events!

(NOTE: At this time, the Christmas By The Sea Parade and Holiday Market scheduled for Saturday, December 6 and Sunday December 7 will still be held as scheduled.)

 

 

Spend an evening with friends and family as OKI Parks and Recreation ushers in the magic of the holiday season at Middleton Park on Friday, December 5, 2025.

FREE to Attend! Events Starts at 5:00 PM, tree lighting at 6:00 PM

‘Tis the Season. Join the Town of Oak Island for its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting event.

Event activities include train rides, live entertainment, craft stations, letters to Santa, Market shopping and even visit from Santa himself.

Stop on by the Middleton Park Complex and help us count down to the lighting of the tree this year.

Relax before the Christmas rush as the community comes together to enjoy FREE live entertainment with local music, crafts, and a visit from good ole’ Santa! Hot chocolate will be available for event goers while supplies last.
